Ok, so for one, I’m sorry I have been late getting this up. I honestly have had this done since Sunday, but it has been a real pain in the but trying to get this dang thing on here. Me method was to print screen the web preview, which worked on the first page, but the second page decided to be difficult and only get part of the page so I had to print screent the actual page.

ANYWAYS, I really did enjoy the actual project portion of this assignement. It is fun to mess with the different fonts as well as actually make up stories and stuff. I think for its purpose I did well.

One of the more difficult items was alignement. I did the high school newspaper back in the day and we made a point of using macs because they had much better programs than publisher. For some reason the alignment just doesn’t want to make since in publisher so you have to tweak it.

Next, I think my colors were good. You have to have contrast but not an art exhibit. If you get too colorful or crazy it will deter your readers and make them want to throw away your newsletter.

Another important element is the proximity. If I were to put some elements too close together it would cause clutter and distraction. For example, If I had text flowing straight up against a picture, it would make it hard to read and confuse the reader.

The last important factor is the ability to repeat an appearance and a theme. I tried to keep the stories somewhat of the same tone, and you try to keep almost the same rules throughout the page for certain types of portions of the newsletter.

My finished project!!!!!!!

First note to all who read this- I’m really sorry I have been behind. I hate being late and I have let this thing slip behind and it had a snowball effect. I think now I may be caught up, finally, and I am really pleased with my project. So anyways the project was actually really fun. I got to do it on something I love, I feel like it is something that could really help kids wanting to play golf, and I thought that with the it was somewhat entertaining. Most importantly though, I feel like I actually learned a lot about movie maker and powerpoint that I would have never know. Definitely the coolest thing in the whole project is how you can put a youtube video in. I thougth it was pretty cool how I did it the first time, and then when I was trying to put in another one I forgot exactly how to, so I just watched the youtube video you gave us to reremember how to put a youtube on there. I know that was confusing, sorry. Anyways, I also noticed that I kind of like the overall theme of my project. It was just kind of different than ones I have done before. Just the combination of colors and trying to stay by the powerpoint rules made me not feel embarassed about my presentation. Like I said, I really enjoyed this project and it helped me learn how to feel my way around powerpoint and movie maker. I can’t say I’m looking forward to Excel as much as this, lol!

My Movie Maker Project!!!!!!!!

So I’m going to give a couple of dislcaimers to this project. First, it isn’t finished completely, or at least how I want it to be. I wanted to add audio and also “putt” in a youtube video of my main man Tiger making a putt. Anyways, my other thing, which is an excuse, but I’m going to say it anyways, I have a had a pretty crazy last 10 days! Sometimes I feel like you need something to just let up, and life just doesn’t quit, so hopefully the upcoming weekend will be that time. Anyways, back to movie maker. Really it is a pretty simple concept and a very useful tool. I can’t beleive that I actually have the power now to make a movie, and even post something on youtube. I really have always wondered who the secret geniusses where that knew how to do this superhuman stuff. One thing I will say that I did have trouble with as far as this project was concerned, I had a real problem gettting the powerpoint slides to save as a picture. I think I did it a very unconventional way. The guy at the library help desk showed me how to make a screen print of my slides. So I guess I have a few things that I need to work on with this part of the project. Thanks all who read, pretty much just the one of you.

Blog Status: Rookie

Well honestly with this whole thing i don’t really know how it works. can i spell words ‘rong’? can I CAPITALIZE whenever i want, can i just keep on going without finishing sentences, or do people really care about that stuff. i’m guessing it isn’t a big deal in general in the blogging world so i don’t plan on wasting the time to use any good grammer.

anyways, as for education, business, etc, from looking at different sites i see the very positive effects of having a blog- lets take it one at a time

Education. I can’t think of a single class that I have been in where i have wanted to say or ask something, but the fear or slothfulness of actually having to raise your hand and ask in front of the class. So when you have something you would have wanted to say or ask in front of the class you could just blog it. The blog is almost like a way for the student to have a private segway to the teacher without even having to go out of their way to embarace themselves. of course another positive side to this is for any grade level their is still a sense of enhancing the students ability to represent how they feel through writting.

As for business- well their are tons of applications. take for example some companies have a blog where they can talk about work related activities. on the other hand also they can have a blog set up to be a brainstorming site. the cool thing about the brainstorming is that it lets the members of a group check out what has already been posted and either work off of that or use that to send them in another alternative direction.

 

also another great applicaiton for the blog is the ability for people to voice their opinions on anything and everthing. for example one of my blogs is on walmart. it is cool that just the current events and actions of one company, walmart, would make people want to do their own blogsite that specifically comments on walmart.

Well regardless i must say i have had a pretty good time in my first official blog. I enjoyed being able to freely speak and I hope that my comments and ideas have some relevance.
